Since 2008 …

  • 2016: In December, Jane joined Waterstones to celebrate Christmas past and present at the Georgian mansion of Nanteos. Plas Nanteos was the seat of the influential Powell family and the home of the famous Nanteos Grail Cup. She talked about how the Powells celebrated Christmas through the ages and did a book signing.

  • 2016: October. The Shadow of Nanteos fell across Crughywel's literary festival when author Jane Blank discussed her latest novel, focusing this time on the role of women.

  • 2016: Women First ! In September, Jane spoke to Soroptimists International about the status of women around the world.

  • 2016: During the National Eisteddfod in 2016, Jane appeared at the 'Pentre Sir Fynwy' stage. Amongst other things, she performed a monolog "Y Ladi Wen" (The Grey Lady - the ghost of Elizabeth Powell). She was interviewed, on stage, about "The Shadow of Nanteos" and she took part in a panel discussion on the historical novel at the Lolfa Len.

  • 2016: In June, Jane read some of her poetry at the Hen & Chicks, Abergavenny in a televised event featuring celebrated poets Twm Morys and Frank Olding.

  • 2016: Jane was at Nanteos Mansion on 19th June for the Summer Fete, reading from the Shadow of Nanteos, signing books and yaking small group tours to some of the locations featured in the novel.

  • 2016: On Saturday afternoon, 23rd April, Jane read from "The Shadow of Nanteos" & other work at Tŷ Meddyg, Trefdraeth (Newport), Pembrokeshire in in support of the Newport Library Working Group, The event included appearances and readings from Gillian Clarke, The National Poet of Wales; John Gower, the celebrated author and documentary maker; Welsh author and presenter, Trevor Fishlock; author Jane Blank and poet Menna Elfyn.

  • 2016: Ryland Wallace & Jane Blank (The Shadow of Nanteos).'Petticoat Bandits' - archwiliad o ymosodiad y swffragetiaid ar yr Eisteddfod Genedlaethol 1913 yn Y Fenni - trefnwyd gan Lyfrgell y Fenni ac yn cael ei gynnal ar ddydd Gwener 20 Mai am 6.30pm.'Petticoat Bandits' - an exploration of the suffragettes' attack on the National Eisteddfod 1913 in Y Fenni, organised by Abergavenny Library, took place on Friday 20th May at 6.30pm.

  • 2016: In March Jane did areading and signing at the Aberystwyth, Waterstones Readers Group

  • 2016: On 24th February, Jane spoke about The Shadow of Nanteos at a research seminar in the Department of English and Creative Writing at Aberystwyth University.

  • 2015: December. "The Shadow of Nanteos" was in Golwg's top-10 English language books from Wales for Christmas - Thanks, Golwg!

  • 2015: Alexander Cordell: On 24th November, Jane presented an illustrated and dramatized evening on the work of Alexander Cordell at the King’s Arms, Abergavenny, in aid of the National Eisteddfod of Wales.

  • In October 2015, Jane’s latest novel, The Shadow of Nanteos was published by Y Lolfa and launched at Nanteos Mansion. It was selected at Waterstones Welsh Book of the Month in November 2015 and Jane was invited to do a book signing tour of Wales, plus London Welsh Centre.

  • Throughout 2015, Jane has delivered lessons on the environment and population to schools on behalf of the charity Population Matters.

  • Summer 2014, Jane ran a schools poetry competition on behalf of the environmental charity, Population Matters.

  • May 2014, Jane judged the Poetry & Drama at the Abergavenny Eisteddfod.

  • Feb 2014, Jane appeared on ITV Wales news to publicise her novel, “The Shadow of Nanteos” and to talk about the story of the “Nanteos Grail”.

  • Feb 2014, Jane judged the Ysgol Y Preseli Eisteddfod, English competition & appeared on ITV Wales News to talk about her new novel, Nanteos, & about the ‘Nanteos Grail’.

  • Sept 2013, Jane’s poem, High Veldt, was shortlisted for the Bridport Prize.

  • 2013: Jane’s poem, Rape circa 1752, was commended in the Camden & Lumen, London Poetry Project competition.

  • 2012: Jane was one of five Welsh poets invited by Cardiff University to join a European forum of poets, translators & academics to debate Poetry Under Pressure.

  • Performed readings of her novel 'Geometry of Love' for reading groups & in public venues such as The Hay Festival and Wales Millennium Centre.

  • Interviewed by radio and television about her work and had work reviewed in the local and National press, including the Observer magazine & the Independent.

  • Won prizes for poetry (most recently from the Bronte Society & from Ragged Raven Press) and has appeared in many anthologies.

  • Finished a second, themed, collection of poetry over Summer, 2012.

  • After a meeting with Film Agency Wales in 2011, Jane created a full length film script.

  • With the closure of 'The Hill' College, Jane has maintained her tutoring interests through one-off projects such as: running writing workshops for the Cardiff 'Mardi Gras' festival; completing a 'writer in residence' project with Arts Alive/ Communities First in Abergavenny; freelance editing & reviewing and continuing to direct theatre/opera productions.

  • Jane says “I very much value my role as an adjudicator and am looking forward to continuing judging eisteddfodau and writing competitions for various bodies in 2013.”
